The first corn mazes are opening here, the first pumpkin recipes are being tried there, and at our house, it\u2019s slowly time for the first autumn cookies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because just like many children, my Minis love baking cookies \u2013 especially when the cookies have fun shapes and can be decorated creatively afterwards!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After already showing you <a href=\"https:\/\/backenmitminis.de\/en\/2025\/10\/10\/pilzplaetzchen\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">our delicious mushroom cookies<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/backenmitminis.de\/en\/2023\/09\/29\/knusprige-butterplaetzchen\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">our crispy, colorful autumn leaf cookies,<\/a> today we have another autumn favorite: cute little hedgehog cookies. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The best part: You don\u2019t need a special cookie cutter for these adorable hedgehog cookies. The hedgehogs are simply shaped by hand \u2013 and that is exactly what makes them such a wonderful recipe for baking with kids.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Unser_Rezept_fur_kleine_suse_Igelplatzchen\"><\/span>Our Recipe for Cute Little Hedgehog Cookies<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These hedgehog cookies are easy, delicious, and quick to prepare. The cookie dough is made with just a few ingredients and is then shaped into little hedgehogs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The shaping is especially fun for my Minis. With just a few simple steps, a little ball of dough turns into an adorable hedgehog \u2013 no complicated cookie cutters needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After baking, the hedgehog cookies are decorated with dark chocolate and chocolate sprinkles. They should be slightly smaller than table tennis balls.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Roll each ball once across the work surface using the palm of your hand so that it becomes oval or egg-shaped.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Carefully pinch out a small hedgehog nose at one end of the dough shape using your thumb and index finger. (See the step-by-step pictures.) <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Place the little hedgehogs on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Place the hedgehog cookies in the preheated oven and bake at 175\u00b0C \/ 350\u00b0F (top and bottom heat) for approximately 15\u201317 minutes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Then transfer to a cooling rack and let cool completely.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And don\u2019t worry: The hedgehogs don\u2019t all have to look exactly the same. Those little differences are what make homemade hedgehog cookies so adorable!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Decorate the hedgehog cookies with chocolate:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>While the hedgehog cookies are cooling, melt the chocolate couverture in a bain-marie.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hold each hedgehog cookie by its \u201cnose\u201d and dip approximately two-thirds of the cookie into the melted chocolate. Allow the excess chocolate to drip off and place the cookies on parchment paper. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sprinkle the still-melted chocolate with white and\/or brown chocolate sprinkles. This gives the hedgehogs their characteristic spiky look.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To draw the faces, dip the tip of a toothpick into the melted chocolate and draw two eyes and a little nose onto the face of each hedgehog (the end of the cookie that was not dipped in chocolate).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Now all that\u2019s left to do is let the chocolate set \u2013 and your adorable hedgehog cookies are ready!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Igelplatzchen_backen_mit_Kindern_%E2%80%93_unsere_Tipps\"><\/span>Baking Hedgehog Cookies with Kids \u2013 Our Tips<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The lovely thing about this recipe is that children can take part in many of the steps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Little Minis can, for example:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>weigh the ingredients,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>knead the ingredients together,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>shape the dough balls,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>create the little hedgehog noses,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>decorate the finished cookies with sprinkles, and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>draw the little faces.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Of course, an adult should always help when working with knives, a hot oven, or melted chocolate couverture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Shaping the hedgehogs is especially fun for children. There is no \u201cright\u201d or \u201cwrong\u201d here \u2013 every little hedgehog can look a little different.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\"
