I too am ready for the cozy time of year when the smell of cookies wafts through the apartment and everything shines in the warm candlelight. I'm really looking forward to baking to Christmas carols with my kids and making colorful Christmas presents. But if you ask my minis, they will tell you that they are particularly looking forward to Alva moving back in with us - our Christmas elf! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And in honor of our little Christmas elf, we have chosen a very special theme for the Bake your Favorite Book Challenge in November! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Back_dein_Lieblingsbuch_%E2%80%93_Die_Back-Challenge_fur_Minis\"><\/span>Bake your favorite book \u2013 the baking challenge for minis<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/backenmitminis.de\/en\/2020\/11\/06\/lebkuchen-mini-gugelhupfe\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/backenmitminis.de\/2020\/11\/06\/lebkuchen-mini-gugelhupfe\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">After it was so much fun last year to present special Christmas books as part of the Back' your favorite book challenge<\/a>, I'm happy that we're starting the second round of Christmas this year with new, beautiful books!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Was_ist_die_%E2%80%9CBack_dein_Lieblingsbuch%E2%80%9D-Challenge\"><\/span>What is the \u201cBake your favorite book\u201d challenge<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With the Bake Your Favorite Book Challenge, I combined two topics that are very close to my heart: baking &amp; reading! This means that even the smallest of the minis can \u201cweigh out\u201d the recipe on their own without much knowledge of numbers (<a href=\"https:\/\/backenmitminis.de\/en\/2021\/07\/02\/tipps-fur-das-backen-mit-kindern\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">You can find more tips in the blog post \u201cMy tips for baking with children\u201d<\/a>).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today, however, we will \u201cbake\u201d with a bought cake. Of course, you can also bake your favorite sponge cake for the elf waffle cups and then process it into small elf waffle cups. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.de\/shop\/backen_mit_minis?listId=1P1ATUW9IUOI3\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.de\/shop\/backen_mit_minis?listId=1P1ATUW9IUOI3\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">melting bowl*<\/a> (cup also works) for a water bath or microwave<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Zubereitung_der_Wichtel-Waffelbecher\"><\/span>Preparation of the elf waffle cups<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Before we can decorate the elf waffle cups, we first have to form the little hats with dough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Kuchenfullung_fur_die_Waffelbecher\"><\/span>Cake filling for the waffle cups<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Crumble the sponge cake into very small crumbs in a mixing bowl. This works best with your hands. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For the taste of Christmas we mixed the cream cheese with <a href=\"https:\/\/jspc.es\/BackenmitMinis\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/jspc.es\/BackenmitMinis\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener sponsored\">Cookie Spice from Just Spices<\/a> Now mix the seasoned cream cheese well with the cake crumbs. This means the dough \u201csticks\u201d together better and can be easily shaped. (<strong>Mini tip:<\/strong> Falls euer Kuchen recht trocken ist, braucht ihr evtl. noch 1-2 TL mehr Frischk\u00e4se. Wenn ihr den Teig fest zusammendr\u00fcckt, sollte er nicht wieder auseinander br\u00f6seln.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Now fill the dough into the small waffle cups and form an approx. 3 cm high, pointed cone over the waffle cup - the gnome hat (see instructions in pictures).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Dekoration_der_Wichtel-Waffelbecher\"><\/span>Decoration of the waffle cups<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After you have formed the elf hats with the cake dough, you can start decorating: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The first step is to melt the melts in a water bath or in the microwave according to the instructions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Then carefully place the filled waffle cups one after the other \u201cupside down\u201d with the pointed \u201chat\u201d first into the liquid glaze up to the edge of the waffle, so that the tip of the waffle cup (the elf hat) is completely covered with the melts. So that the glaze can drip off a little, hold the waffle cup at a slight angle over the melting bowl and slowly turn it between two fingers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Now place a chocolate ball on the tip of
