Before Christmas, many families bring in Christmas elves. I'll show you 3 ideas on how you can make your elves happy: Baking for the Christmas elves!
Do you also have a little Christmas elf moving in with you during the Christmas season? Since last year, the elf girl Alva has been coming to visit us in December to experience a cozy Christmas time with us. She surprises us with little magic, cute letters (You can now find 36 prescribed Christmas elf letters including great Christmas elf ideas and stationery in our shop) and asks for our help for small, special tasks. (You can also find great ideas about Christmas elves on the blog allaroundfamily)
This year we also want to surprise our little elf girl and bake our favorite Christmas recipes in miniature size.

No-bake mini gingerbread houses
For me, a delicious gingerbread house is simply part of the Christmas season! Of course our little elf should get one too. 😉
Ingredients
for a house
- 4 mini shortbread cookies
- liquid chocolate or icing (powdered sugar + a few drops of lemon)
- Sugar pearls, mini marshmallows, chocolate buttons, etc. (I have put together our favorite decorative items for the Christmas season in this list.*)
- Mini gummy bears (from the small gummy bear bags)

Preparation
- First you heat the chocolate or stir together the icing (nice and thick with a little lemon juice).
- Then place two mini shortbread cookies with the long side together (they will be the bottom of the house) and put liquid chocolate or icing on the two long sides (mini tip: You can distribute the “adhesive material” particularly precisely with a disposable piping bag (but a small spoon also works ;))
- Then place two mini shortbread cookies with the long side on the “cookie base” and lean them together at the top edges to create a roof. You can also fix this edge again with chocolate or icing.
- Now let the house dry for a few minutes and then you can decorate as you wish.

Mini tip: If you want to bake a real miniature house made from cookie dough there is an extra cookie cutter for little elf houses. You can find it in this list*.

Mini donuts for our elf
Maybe your little Christmas elf has American roots and loves donuts. You can also conjure these up quickly and easily for your Christmas elf visit!

Ingredients
- a handful of Froot Loops* or other round breakfast cereal
- green Cakemelts*
- Christmas sugar sprinkles*
Preparation
- First, melt the melts according to the instructions in a water bath or microwave
- Then dip the loops in the melts and decorate them as you wish

Mini cookies for your elf
And of course cookies should not be missing during the Christmas season. There is a really great selection that you can buy in miniature size*. Or you can bake them yourself with our favorite shortcrust pastry (do you already know our recipe for butter cookies) and use small fondant cutters* to cut them out.
Or you can bake a little Christmas bundt cake for your Christmas elves! It will definitely be very well received too. 😉

Mini-Tip: When our elf does magic, she uses GoodBake's edible glitter spray and food coloring as the magic powder.
