Mini-Tip Instead of the 300g paper, you can print out the “Advent calendar in a box” template on normal, white printer paper and then stick it onto (colorful) cardboard/craft paper and process it further. This also gives you stability for the lid of the Toffifee box.

Craft instructions

  • Print out the print template for your Advent calendar on your printer or at the nearest copy shop. Ideally on 300g paper. If you printed it on normal printer paper, you can stabilize the cover of the Advent calendar by gluing the printed paper to the cardboard and then processing it further.
  • If you and your kids want to be creative with the printout of the lid, I recommend painting the Christmas printables before cutting them out.
  • Cut out the print template and cut along the dotted line.
  • Now fold the Christmas print template backwards along all the lines to create the edge of the lid. It can be helpful to use the ruler as a folding aid.
  • After the edges have been folded, coat the protruding triangles with glue and glue the edges together to form a “frame”. To hold the adhesive surface in place until the glue dries, you can use clothes clips or paper clips to hold it in place.
  • While the glue is drying, label 24 stars with the numbers 1-24 and then stick them on the cling film over each Toffifee. When giving as a gift, I find it more hygienic to leave the foil around the inner Toffifee box.
  • As soon as the glue has dried, put the lid on the Toffifee box and your individual Advent calendar is ready to give as a gift!

Alternative Tip: If you want to give the Toffifees as a gift without the protective film, you can remove it and write the numbers 1-24 on the individual Toffifees using sugar writing. This variant is not so hygienic and the sugar coating changes the taste of the toffees. At the same time I would like to show you the alternative!

An Advent calendar with Toffifee is a great “pre-Christmas present”!
