“You’re 1st Class!” – Sweet Gifts for the First Day of School with Ritter Sport (incl. printable template)

With our DIY template for colorful first-day-of-school belly bands for Ritter Sport bars, you can create unique little gifts for school enrollment.

Summer is in full swing, and the summer holidays are drawing to a close. While for my little ones this marks the beginning of another school year, for many children it’s the start of an entirely new stage of life: starting school! For the first day of school, school cones (school cones) are crafted, school satchels tried on and chosen, school routes practiced, and little gifts for the school start prepared… truly an exciting time in the lives of children and their families. For this special new chapter, my little ones and I crafted small chocolate gifts for the new first graders (called i-Dötzchen in German). These chocolatey gifts for the first day of school are a small token of attention for the school starters!

With the “You’re 1st Class” chocolates, you can get creative for the first day of school by

• putting them into the school cone
• using them as a “card” for your money gift,
• distributing them among the first graders to be in your kindergarten group
• giving them to your 1st grade class as a welcome gift in primary school
• surprising friends’ children who are starting school,

...by the way, they can also be easily sent by mail! 

I'll now show you how you can quickly make these first-day-of-school chocolates with your kids:

DIY First-Day-of-School Gift with “You’re 1st Class” Ritter Sport Bands

You only need a few materials to craft these chocolates. Our printable templates are usually designed so that you can work directly with the printed bands (you can find the “You’re 1st Class” printable for the chocolates here). At the same time, my little ones and I like to inspire your children’s creativity. That’s why you can also let your kids decorate the templates artistically with colored pencils, glitter, or watercolors. You can, of course, simply print them on pastel-colored paper too. As always: let your creativity run wild!

List of materials for gifts for starting school

• Printout of print template "You’re 1st Class" (little school cones) or the print template “Sweet School Satchels” (little school backpack) for Ritter Sport bars
• Ritter Sport bars*
• Scissors
• Glue
• Colored pencils, watercolors, etc.

Craft instructions

• Print out the template for your starting school gifts on your printer or at the nearest copy shop.
• If you and your kids want to be creative with the printout of the banderoles, I recommend painting the banderoles before cutting them out.
• Cut out the bands along the line.
• Wrap the band around the middle of a Ritter Sport bar.
• Glue the overlapping edges together – and your first-day-of-school chocolate is ready!
