Our Easter bunny made of wooden beads is a particularly pretty cake topper for Easter! It turns your Easter cake into a special eye-catcher! Here you will find the picture-by-picture instructions for the simple Easter bunny made of wooden beads.
My minis and I love to bake creatively at Easter. Of cause we bake little lemon bunnies and sweet Easter egg cakes, but the classic carrot cake will be served for Easter as well!
And today we made a suitable cake decoration for this classic: our Easter bunny made of wooden beads - our pretty Easter bunny cake topper!
Of course, baking with children also includes decorating the cake afterwards. Today, while the cake was baking in the oven, we made this Easter cake topper out of small wooden beads. If you want your Easter cake to be crowned with this sweet cake topper, I now have the easy picture-by-picture instructions for the sweet Easter bunnies made of wooden beads for you.

“Hoppy Easter greetings” – Chocolate Easter chocolates
Do you need a cute little something for your Easter mail? Or would you like to decorate your Easter table with chocolate treats this year?
Then these cute wrappers for your little Easter chocolates are just the thing! These creatively designed Easter chocolates fit perfectly in the mail and add that special something to any Easter nest!
Our simple Easter bunny made of wooden beads – the DIY instructions
You can make these Easter bunnies wonderfully with your children. My kids have already threaded these Easter bunnies on their own. My big kid (age 5) just needed a little help “tightening” the wire and my little kid essentially threaded and I tightened and knotted the wire. I took over the task of attaching the nylon cord to the paper straws.
We had so much fun threading that we made a few Easter bunnies - they also make wonderful Easter decorations on the Easter bush or gift tags on Easter presents!

Material list for an Easter bunny
- 30 Wooden beads for threading* (our beads have a diameter of 14mm (medium bunny) and 8mm for the small bunnies)
- 30-40 cm wire (this depends on the size of the wooden beads)
To make a cake topper you also need:
- a (nylon) thread of approx. 30 cm
- 2 paper straws
- Needle
- Scissors
This is how it's done
Step 1: Thread 14 wooden beads one after the other onto the wire.

Step 2: Thread the end of the wire back through the first three wooden beads to create a circle.
Step 3: Pull the wire tight so that the circle of wooden beads is in the center of the wire. You now have the same amount of wire for the ears on both sides of the circle.

Step 4: String 8 wooden beads onto one of the protruding wire rods.

Step 5: Thread the end of the wire back through the first of the 8 beads to create an ear.

Step 6: Pull the wire tight again and knot the end or twist the end onto the round circle - the Easter bunny's head.

Step 7: Repeat steps 4-6 for the second bunny ear.

And now you have a cute little Easter bunny made of wooden beads!

To make a cake topper, thread three of the beaded bunnies and thread them onto a (nylon) thread. Poke a hole in the paper straw with the needle (approx. 1 cm below the end of the straw), thread the thread through the hole and knot the end. Repeat the same thing with the second straw and the other end of the “Easter bunny chain”. And your cake topper for Easter is ready and can decorate your delicious Easter cake!

My kids and I wish you and your kids a lot of fun threading and lots of fun with the pretty cake topper!
Happy Easter and have fun hunting for Easter eggs!
Yours, Lia
