A wonderfully chocolaty Christmas present from the kitchen: Spanish turrón! We'll show you three quick, delicious variations to enjoy!
“Small touches maintain friendship,” as the saying goes. And if the"touche" is chocolate, a long friendship is definitely inevitable 😉
During the Christmas season, my kids and I use our creative time together to create loving (usually delicious) Christmas presents for family and friends. Today we are devoting ourselves to Turrón production – Turrón de Chocolate. The classic turrón consists of white nougat. However, there are now many different variations and since we are chocolate lovers, we make Turrón de Chocolate together!
Recipe for our homemade turrón
We have chosen simple versions of Turrón de Chocolate that you can make wonderfully with your kids. What I think is particularly great about these turróns is that you can let your creativity and taste run wild. My kids and I will show you simple and delicious variations today. At the same time, you can of course modify these as you wish with your favorite nuts, etc.
To make the turrón you will need the following:
Baking accessories
Cooking pot & melting bowl, mixing bowl, board & knife, tablespoon, optional: dough scraper, Chocolate silicone mold* or empty Tetra Pak bags (halved lengthwise, see picture in instructions in pictures).
Turrón Classico
Ingredients
- 100 g dark chocolate
- 50 g vanilla icing*
- 50g raisins
- 50 g almond slivers (save 10 g for decoration)
- 20 g whole almonds
- a pinch of cinnamon
- Glitter spray*

Preparation
- Add raisins, almond slivers and whole almonds to the mixing bowl.
- Dark chocolate to be slowly melted in a water bath.
- Refine the melted chocolate with cinnamon and also add it to the mixing bowl.
- Pour the turrón mixture into the mold and smooth it out a little.
- Slowly melt the vanilla icing in a water bath and spread it over the dark chocolate with a spoon. It looks particularly nice if you make a few loops with the toothpick, then it creates a marbled effect.
- Sprinkle some almond slivers over the turrón as decoration.
- Then refrigerate so that the chocolate solidifies.
Mini-Tip You shouldn't heat the chocolate too much, otherwise it will turn whitish-gray when it dries. Make sure that the chocolate does not come into contact with the water and that the bowl for the chocolate is only heated by the steam.
Turrón de Oreo
Ingredients (light Oreo variant)
- 100 g white chocolate
- 50 g duo glaze cinnamon-cocoa*
- 7 light Oreo cookies (reserve 3 Oreo cookies for decoration)
- a pinch of cinnamon
- Glitter spray*
Zutaten (Variante dunkle Oreo)
- 100 g dark chocolate
- 50 g vanilla icing*
- 7 dark Oreo cookies (reserve 3 Oreo cookies for decoration)
- a pinch of cinnamon
- Glitter spray*
Preparation
- Crush Oreos and add them to the mixing bowl.
- Chocolate to be melted slowly in a water bath
- Refine the melted chocolate with cinnamon and also add it to the mixing bowl.
- Pour the chocolate mixture into the mold and smooth it out a little.
- Slowly melt the glaze in a water bath and spread it over the chocolate with a spoon. It looks particularly nice if you make a few loops with the toothpick, then it creates a marbled effect. (When using the duo glaze you immediately get a marble effect due to the two glazes.)
- For decoration, either place the Oreo cookies as a whole cookie on the chocolate or roughly reduce them and sprinkle them on the chocolate.
- Then refrigerate so that the chocolate solidifies.
Turrón de Amicelli
Ingredients
- 100 g dark chocolate
- 50 g duo glaze cinnamon-cocoa*
- 6 sticks of Amicelli* (reserve 2 sticks for decoration)
- 20 g cornflakes (reserve 1 tablespoon for decoration)
- 1 decorative star*
- Glitter spray*
Preparation
- Chop up 4 Amicelli sticks and add them to the mixing bowl along with the cornflakes.
- Chocolate to be slowly melted in a water bath.
- Also add the melted chocolate to the mixing bowl.
- Pour the chocolate mixture into the silicone mold or Tetra Pak mold and smooth it out a little.
- Slowly melt the glaze in a water bath and spread it over the chocolate with a spoon.
- For decoration, either place the Oreo cookies as a whole cookie on the chocolate or roughly reduce them and sprinkle them on the chocolate.
- For the Christmas tree decoration, carefully cut the Amicelli sticks into 6 different lengths with a sharp knife and sort them according to size as a Christmas tree as shown in the picture.
- Place the star on the top of the Christmas tree and distribute the cornflakes as “snow” under the Christmas tree.
- Then refrigerate so that the chocolate solidifies.
Mini-Tip You can also put the dry ingredients directly into the mold and then pour the liquid chocolate over it. However, you should then knock the mold against the kitchen counter a few times so that 1. the chocolate is distributed into all corners and 2. any bubbles that may have formed in the chocolate disappear.

Pretty Christmas wrapping for your turrón
The Turrón is – in my opinion – an absolutely beautiful eye-catcher. Therefore, you can pack them in a small foiled cookie bag and the person receiving the gift will immediately see the wonderful, delicious gift.
However, if you want the turrón to be a surprise and therefore want it to be packaged “opaquely”, I still recommend that you wrap it in foil or baking paper beforehand. That's more hygienic.

My kidss & I wish you and your kids lots of fun being creative and even more fun giving gifts!
Yours, Lia
