Delicious Potions

While I was creating labels for the Harry Potter party snacks, I went ahead and made a few more for some delicious “potions.”

For the cool “potions,” I decorated carafes with the labels and colored the juices accordingly. The little witches and wizards absolutely loved it! If you’ve been following us for a few years, you’ll know that I usually add food coloring and/or edible glitter to the drinks at children’s birthday parties – and the kids think it’s spectacular! A fun little highlight with very little effort(check out our dino party with “mud water” for another example).

Our Magical Party Drinks

  • Clear Flobberworm Slime – water
  • Abyssinian Shrivelfig – apple juice / sparkling apple juice (Since the little ones loved it, I colored the apple juice with green food coloring from the Good Bake drop system *)
  • Fire Salamander Blood – red juices (e.g., red currant juice, etc. I colored one of my kids’ favorite drinks – passion fruit spritzer – with red food coloring from the Good Bake drop system *)
  • Butterbeer – Well known among all Harry Potter fans! You can find many delicious – and of course non-alcoholic – recipes for kids online. (I didn’t include it at our party since not all kids tolerate milk.)

Instructions for a Magical Snack Bar for Your Harry Potter Party

You can quickly create the snack bar using the printable template for the enchanting labels and a few jam jars – perfect for your Harry Potter party. It’s a delicious surprise that wonderfully complements the birthday cake and is especially loved by the little ones.

Your minis will surely enjoy helping you put together the magical snack bar – though be careful... some snacks tend to vanish as if by magic 😉

Materials List for the Magical Snack Bar

Craft instructions

  • Cut out the labels from the template.
  • Rinse the jam jars briefly and dry them thoroughly.
  • Now stick the labels in the center of the front side of each jar. If you plan to reuse the jars for Harry Potter party snacks, I recommend using liquid glue or even a hot glue gun. If you – like me – want to use them again during strawberry season for jam, the labels also stick perfectly with small loops of clear tape (roll a piece of tape into a ring with the sticky side outwards).
  • Fill the jars with snacks that match the labels – you’ll find plenty of ideas further up in the blog post!

And voilà – your magical snack bar is ready for your little wizard’s or witch’s Harry Potter party!

Mini-Tip: The snack bar is not only perfect for a birthday party, but it’s also an absolute highlight for a Harry Potter movie night or as a birthday gift for a Harry Potter fan!

My little ones and I wish you and your minis a magical Harry Potter party – and we hope you don’t end up with a jelly bean that tastes like earwax! 😉

Yours, Lia
