Easter baskets are part of Easter. Just like the boot for St. Nicholas Day! That's why you'll also find them on our Easter muffins: Our chocolatey Easter baskets!
If you like “Chocolate Crossies”, then you will love the crunchy, chocolatey Easter baskets! Whether on the Easter cake or an Easter muffin, they decorate every Easter cookie. My minis and I also like to eat them “pure” – without any “cake base” 😉
Chocolate Easter nests are ideal for making with your minis, as the little ones can do many of the tasks themselves.

“Hoppy Easter greetings” – Chocolate Easter chocolates
Do you need a cute little something for your Easter mail? Or would you like to decorate your Easter table with chocolate treats this year?
Then these cute wrappers for your little Easter chocolates are just the thing! These creatively designed Easter chocolates fit perfectly in the mail and add that special something to any Easter nest!
Recipe for chocolatey Easter baskets
These little Easter baskets are wonderful for working with the kids. You can wonderfully mix the crunchy ingredients with the liquid chocolate and use your spoon to form small piles on the baking paper. My kids put the chocolate eggs on the nest with a lot of dedication. To be honest, I didn't have much to do 😉

Ingredients for approx. 12 Easter nests
- 200 g dark chocolate couverture
- 50 g spelled pops
- 20 g chopped almonds
- 30 g Cornflakes
- 24 colorful chocolate eggs* (zur Osterzeit erhältst du diese in diversen Supermärkten)
Baking accessories
Scales, pot, bowl, small spoon, baking paper

Preparation
First, slowly melt the chocolate in a water bath. During this time, the chocolate must not come into contact with the water, otherwise it will clump together.
The dry ingredients are then added to the melted chocolate and mixed well. The minis can help wonderfully with this. All ingredients should then be covered in chocolate.
After the ingredients have been mixed well, your child can use the spoon to spread small piles - the chocolate Easter nests - onto the baking paper. If it doesn't work well with a spoon, your child can also form the chocolate nests with its hands on the baking paper.
Finally, two colorful chocolate eggs are placed on each Easter basket. And the chocolate Easter baskets are ready!
If you are still looking for a special Easter gift, I am sure that “Chocolate Easter baskets” will be a lot of fun as a gift from the kitchen. An Easter gift that your children can make themselves with a little help. And I am very sure that this colorful gift from the kitchen will bring a lot of joy to the recipient!

The Easter basket as a muffin topper
The chocolate Easter baskets taste wonderful – even without cake! However, they taste at least as good when they decorate a delicious muffin as a muffin topper. A beautiful cake decoration for your Easter muffins that makes a very special eye-catcher on the Easter table - a sweet, colorful eye-catcher!
The chocolate Easter baskets taste particularly good in combination with our juicy carrot cake.

This time we poured the dough into a muffin tin instead of a springform pan and baked twelve juicy “carrot muffins”. Each moist muffin was crowned with a chocolate Easter basket.
Aren't these cute Easter muffins?
I hope you enjoy baking and snacking!
Yours, Lia
