Just before Christmas, I'll show you 3 last minute gifts for Christmas. You can quickly and easily implement these gifts from the kitchen with your kids.
Every year at Christmas, my minis and I fall back into our passion for crafts and baking! Family, friends, teachers and other people who are close to us receive homemade little things that are intended to express our affection.
Today we'll show you DIY gifts that you can make in a flash with your minis. These Christmas presents are so easy and delicious too! Best of all, because they're quick to make, they make wonderful last minute gifts. If you and your minis would like to use the last weekend of Advent to “produce Christmas presents”, here are our ideas!

Last minute gifts from the kitchen
Broken chocolate
We are big fans of broken chocolate! No matter whether it's Easter, Halloween or Christmas, broken chocolate can always be wonderfully decorated to match the current theme and honestly, who doesn't like chocolate? 😉

Ingredients
- 8 bars of chocolate (100 g each) – white, dark and/or milk chocolate
- Sprinkles, nuts, dried fruits, mini marshmallows, pretzels, sugar eyes
The decoration depends on how you want to decorate the chocolate. You can simply sprinkle them with sprinkles, nuts or dried fruits (strawberries, raspberries,…) or you can decorate them with figures and symbols.
This is how it's done
- You place the chocolate bars unwrapped on a baking tray lined with baking paper and put them in the oven at 60°C top/bottom heat for 10 minutes.
- Once the chocolate has melted, marble the chocolate by using a fork to draw loops over the chocolate.
- Now decorate the chocolate as desired.
- Finally, the chocolate has to dry, so it's better to allow 12 hours for this - you can also let it cool in the fridge if you want it to go faster.
- After they have cooled, you can cut them with a knife.
And now you have wonderful gifts from the kitchen!
We made this broken chocolate in a mini baking workshop last year. Since we didn't have an oven available, we melted the chocolate in a water bath. That is also possible!

Christmas-Crunch
The Christmas Crunch is - just like the broken chocolate - one of the last minute gifts that you can adapt to the event. You can also make an Easter crunch for Easter.
For the Christmas crunch, the minis and I chose Christmas colors and since we really like white chocolate, we are making this Christmas present with white chocolate. But you can also use dark or milk chocolate.

Ingredients
- 150 g white chocolate (whole milk or dark)
- 2 cups salted pretzels (we still had salt hearts)
- 2 cups Kelloggs Tresor (cereal pillow with chocolate)*
- 1 cup Kelloggs Zimmys (small cinnamon stars – suitable for Christmas)
Decoration
- red & green M&Ms or Smarties (chocolate beans)
- Christmas sprinkles (I used these)

Tags, labels & banderoles to decorate your gifts.
This is how it's done
- Melt the chocolate in a water bath.
- Meanwhile, mix the salted pretzels, grain pillows and cinnamon stars in a bowl
- Carefully fold the liquid chocolate into the grain mix using a spatula.
- Spread the crunch on a baking tray lined with baking paper
- And now decorate as you wish
- Let the Christmas Crunch dry and then store it in small screw-top jars or swing-top jars.
The Christmas Crunch is one of the tastiest last minute gifts for Christmas and always looks very pretty in a glass!
Christmas pretzels
Like the Christmas crunch, the Christmas pretzels are a delicious combination of sweet and salty!

Ingredients
- 24 mini pretzels
- 1 bar of chocolate
- green & red M&Ms (chocolate beans)
This is how it's done
- The mini pretzels are spread on a baking tray lined with baking paper
- A piece of chocolate is placed on each pretzel
- The baking tray with pretzels and chocolate is placed in the oven for approx. 10 minutes at 60°C top/bottom heat
- After the chocolate has melted, place the M&Ms on top of the melted chocolate.
- After the pretzel bites have cooled, you can pack them into small bags.
These last minute gifts will be a hit with anyone with a sweet tooth!

Extra: DIY gift wrapping
Since Christmas can also be a delicious cake in a glass or a special chocolate, today we'll show you as a little extra how we wrapped our presents this year.
In our kindergarten this year, homemade gifts from the kitchen were prohibited due to the well-known situation. That's why we bought the teachers delicious chocolates and packaged them nicely! These ideas make excellent last minute gifts because you can do them with your minis in a short amount of time.
Reindeer with stuffing
We have baked our delicious gingerbread gugelhupf in small mason jars and then dressed up as reindeer.

Christmas chocolate packaging
This year we wrapped the chocolate bars for the teachers in a lovely Christmas style! The following ideas are the perfect last minute gifts - you don't have to wait for the chocolate to dry, you can get right to it! 🙂
Reindeer chocolate
We made the little reindeer out of wrapping paper, construction paper and googly eyes. And for the Rudolf nose we used a red pompom. Sweet, right?

Snowman chocolate (Print Template)
We wrapped the little snowmen in white printer paper and then decorated them with cardboard and googly eyes. For the D3 effect, we used real buttons and tied red and white packaging tape around it as a scarf.

A small, loving gift for the Christmas season!
Christmas tree with chocolate ornaments
My minis cut out Christmas trees for their teachers and hung them not only with paper ornaments, but also with delicious chocolate ornaments 😉 There is enough space on the back for a personal dedication.

Christmas tree chocolate
We decorated more Christmas presents using the leftover green cardboard for the Christmas tree.

Now you have seen some of our Christmas presents, maybe there are one or two ideas for your last minute gifts and you can use the weekend again to get creative with your minis!
Have fun and have a wonderful 4th Advent!
