For a change, something hearty: crispy pizza stars! Our Christmas pizza rolls – the crunchy Christmas snack!
Nothing beats Christmas baking with kids! No matter whether Santa Claus Cookies, Speculoos muffins or a Christmas Slabcake – we love them! And yet, during such an intensive, sweet baking season like the Christmas season, my kids & I also like to snack something hearty in between! Do you and your kids feel the same way?
Delicious pizza rolls are very popular with us - during the Christmas season, of course, “Christmas” pizza rolls! Our super-fast, crispy pizza stars are the ultimate snack at Christmas time!

Our recipe for crispy pizza stars
My kids & I use ready-made dough from the refrigerated counter for our quick, crispy pizza stars. Of course, you can also mix up your favorite pizza dough yourself. Then the Christmas pizza rolls may not be made as quickly, but they are at least as tasty. 😉
Ingredients
Ingredients for approx. 15-20 pizza stars
- 1 frozen pizza dough
- Tomato paste
- 125 g mozzarella
- 2-3 tsp pizza spice*
- egg
Baking accessories
spreading knife, cutting board, kitchen knife, star cookie cutter, small bowl, pastry brush, baking tray lined with baking paper, fork
Preparation
- The pizza dough is rolled out and spread with tomato paste and seasoned.
- The mozzarella is cut into small cubes.
- Then spread the mozzarella pieces on one half of the pizza dough about 2 cm apart.
- Now fold the unlined side of the dough exactly over the lined side and press it down a little.
- Now the oven can be preheated to 200°C (follow the temperature on the pizza dough package instructions).
- Use the star cutter to cut out small stars around the mozzarella pieces and place them on the baking tray lined with baking paper.
- The edges of the stars should be pressed a little with your fingers or a fork so that the cheese doesn't leak out while baking.
- The egg is then whisked in a small bowl and spread over the stars with a brush.
- The stars are then baked according to the package instructions for about 15 minutes. Then you can plaster them straight away!

Aren't these Christmas pizza rolls the ideal snack for sweet Christmas baking? The pizza stars also taste wonderful with a Christmas film or with a delicious pumpkin soup...
My kids & I wish you and your kids lots of fun baking and crunching!
Yours, Lia
