Today we're going to show you easy hot chocolate bombs for kids - a super easy DIY Christmas gift that you can make with your kids.
You're probably familiar with the chocolate Christmas trend from recent years: the Hot Chocolatet Bomb! A super delicious gift from the kitchen that not only tastes good, but is also a feast for the eyes. You let the large chocolate ball slide into the hot milk and as the chocolate ball melts, a delicious hot chocolate is created with little surprises from inside the chocolate ball. I also made the chocolate bombs on sticks for my minis last year and they loved them!
A great DIY Christmas gift - unfortunately making the delicate chocolate ball shell is not for small children's hands... We thought about it a little and simplified the special DIY Christmas gift from the kitchen for children a little:
Recipe for Hot Chocolate Bombs – especially for children
To make the recipe for the Hot Chocolate Bombs easier for children to make, we have omitted the delicate chocolate ball shell. At the same time there is a delicious marshmallow surprise - because we don't want to miss it!

Ingredients for 12 Hot Chocolate Bombs
- 100 g white chocolate
- 100 g dark chocolate
- 50 g Mini-Marshmallows*
- Mini pretzels*
- red and orange chocolate beans
Baking accessories
Boards & kitchen knives, cooking pot & melting bowl for melting the chocolate, dough scraper, Mini Bundt cake silicone mold*, teaspoon

Preparation
- The first step is to melt the chocolate - both types one after the other so that they don't mix while melting. You can cut the chocolate into smaller pieces with a knife in advance - but this is not a must, the chocolate just melts a little faster in the water bath.
- When the chocolate has melted, remove the melting bowl from the heat and stir the mini marshmallows into the melted chocolate about 10 minutes later.
- Now fill the still liquid chocolate-marshmallow mixture into the mini Bundt cake silicone mold. It can look particularly nice if you mix the white and dark chocolate and create a marbled effect.
- Now the chocolate is allowed to cool completely and harden.
- After the Hot Chocolate Bombs have cooled, take them out of the mold. You can already give it away as a small DIY gift for hot chocolate lovers. However, they look particularly cute when you decorate them as little reindeer or snowmen.
- To do this, melt some more chocolate, approx. 10 g.
- You decorate the reindeer by painting small eyes on the mini bundt cake with the chocolate and using the chocolate to attach the mini pretzels as antlers and the red Smarti as a nose.
- The snowmen also have their eyes painted on with the liquid chocolate and a mouth as well. For the nose, an orange Chocolate bean is also fixed with the chocolate and the sweet DIY Christmas present is decorated for Christmas and the child-friendly hot chocolate bombs are ready!
