Today I’m sharing 10 quick ideas for a last-minute Halloween party with you, so you can create a spooky-sweet fun time for your little ones. Even with simple ideas and little time, you can prepare a wonderful Halloween party for the kids!
Quick Decorations for the Mini Halloween Party
No party without decorations! And I’m definitely a fan of the motto “less is more!” After all, the little ones shouldn’t feel overwhelmed by the party decorations—they should be delighted instead. Often, a garland, a few streamers or balloons, and some appealing table decorations are already enough!
Ghost Garland
Since I’m a fan of garlands, we usually have a themed garland! This year, it’s Halloween.
This cute ghost garland was created in no time using 5 white A4 sheets of paper, glue, scissors, and markers. I glued the 5 sheets together along the short sides to make one long strip.
Then I folded the paper strip accordion-style into 8 cm wide sections and sketched a ghost on the top of the folded paper. Cutting out the ghost along the folds gave me a garland of ghosts lined up one after another, which I then drew funny faces on—and the Halloween garland was ready!

DIY Halloween Treats
Trick or treat? With our DIY print template you can make creative Halloween treats with your kids from Ritter Sport Minis and hand them out on Halloween or bring them to the Halloween party as a small guest gift. Here you can find our DIY print template.
Trick or Treat?
Spooky Ghost Tealights
These little ghosts that glow in the dark can be made in no time from white paper lunch bags, scissors, and a black marker. Cut a zigzag pattern along the bag opening, draw the ghost’s face with the marker, place a small glass with a tealight inside, and your glowing little ghost is ready!

Flying Bats
These bats decorate our windows every Halloween. They’re quick to make from black cardboard and a few googly eyes, and my two preschoolers can already help with crafting them.

Last-Minute DIY Table Decorations for the Mini Halloween Party
You eat with your eyes first! That’s why I think the dessert table should always look nice. Considering that the treats are often already a feast for the eyes, you don’t need too much extra decoration 😉 But a few pretty details can turn the treats into a perfectly styled table!

DIY muffin topper set
Do you already know our DIY gift tag set? With the cute gift tags for your DIY gifts from the kitchen, you can beautifully decorate your muffins. The muffin toppers are available as a colored print or for you to color in yourself!
Der Halloween-Kracher!
Halloween-Themed Napkin Holders
The template for the little bat that decorates our windows each year is also perfect as a napkin holder. Cut two horizontal slits in the bat according to the template, slide a napkin through, and voilà—you have a spooktacular napkin holder for your mini Halloween party! (Template Bat)

Spooky Snack Cups / Drinking Cups
A spooky “witch’s potion” tastes best from a ghostly cup. Simply draw eyes and a ghost mouth on a white paper cup* with a black marker*—and in no time you have a matching cup for your mini Halloween party. These cups also work perfectly as small snack boxes.

Snack Boxes from Milk Cartons
A special highlight at the Halloween party: little snack boxes shaped like bats, pumpkins, or monsters filled with treats.
Remove the printed layer of a milk carton with a knife. Underneath, there’s a plain paper layer perfect for painting with watercolors, markers, acrylic paint, etc.
With scissors, you can cut bat ears, monster eyes, zigzags, etc. into the painted milk carton to create any creature you want for your Halloween table 😉
These milk carton monsters and bats are perfect for holding long party snacks like cake pops, pretzel sticks, lollipops, or ghost skewers.

Last-Minute Party Snacks for the Mini Halloween Party
Party snacks! Now we’re in my element. I love snacks of all kinds—but for a last-minute Halloween party, especially those that can be quickly assembled with little effort!
Halloween Crunch
An incredibly easy and delicious party snack is Halloween Crunch. With lots of crunchy, sweet-and-salty ingredients and Halloween sprinkles, it’s not only eye-catching at the snack table but can also be made in no time with your little ones.
Following the motto “whatever tastes good is allowed!”—nuts, cereals, pretzel sticks, mini marshmallows, and anything else your heart desires can be turned into the crunch. Mix with melted chocolate, spread on parchment paper to set, and decorate with sprinkles! A crispy dream for a last-minute Halloween party.

Sweet Ghost Skewers
These ghost skewers are as easy as they are delicious! Take a few large white marshmallows and draw a ghost face with a black food pen*, dark chocolate, or black icing. Then skewer the marshmallows on a stick or cute paper straw—and voilà!

Quick Spider Cookies
Quick spider cookies are a fun way to customize store-bought cookies. My little ones and I decorated chocolate cookies with white chocolate as spider webs and small spiders—spooky and delicious! In no time, we had unique Halloween cookies to decorate our table.

Spooky-Sweet Caketoppers
My fastest and most popular tip for Halloween cake decoration: caketoppers! I love caketoppers—you probably noticed this on my blog 😉. They’re fantastic! With a little crafting, you can turn a plain muffin or cake into a themed masterpiece! Wow! Isn’t that brilliant? (Instructions for the caketoppers can be found in this post.)
The “Happy Monster” toppers aren’t just cute on muffins or mini cakes—they also work for Halloween food skewers, cheese-grape skewers, sausages, meatballs, etc.

More Snack Ideas for Halloween
If you have more baking time, you’ll find even more delicious Halloween treats on my blog: pumpkin cupcakes with cinnamon topping, chocolate bat cake, Monster Halloween Cookies and Spider Muffins, to name a few 😉

A last-minute Halloween party doesn’t have to be stressful. Many ideas require little material or time. Even with simple ideas and store-bought cookies customized individually, you can pull off a fantastic themed party at the last minute!
I wish you and your little ones an amazing last-minute Halloween party and lots of fun preparing it!
Yours, Lia
