Detective cake for the three exclamation mark party: marble cake

*Posting contains advertising

We're having a detective party - with matching detective cakes, of course! The fluffy recipe for the marble cake is a hit with my kids!

My minis have discovered detective stories for themselves: together with the “three exclamation marks” they are busy investigating in the children's room! Of course, the desire for a detective party for a child's birthday was almost predictable! After baking the last few years unicorns, mermaidsa Miraculous Cake and many more, I will bake a detective cake this year.

This motive cake is one of the “Easy to make Motive cakes!”

Preparation

We bake our fluffy marble cake:

  1. First, heat the oven to 175°C top/bottom heat and stretch the baking paper into the springform pan.
  2. Now put the soft margarine, sugar and a pinch of salt together in the mixing bowl and stir the ingredients with the hand mixer until foamy.
  3. Then beat the eggs one by one into the dough, pour in the milk and mix the ingredients well.
  4. In the next step, mix the baking powder with the flour and slowly stir the flour-baking powder mixture into the dough.
  5. Now put half of the dough into the springform pan and spread it with the dough scraper.
  6. Add the baking cocoa to half of the mixture in the mixing bowl and then mix it well with the hand mixer.
  7. The dark dough is now poured over the light dough and also spread a little with the dough scraper.
  8. Now use the fork to make a few small loops to create the marble pattern in the cake.
  9. The sponge cake is then baked in the oven for 40 minutes. Since ovens heat and bake at different levels, do the stick test to make sure your cake is baked through. (You don't know what a "stick test" is yet, no problem, in this article I'll tell you a few baking tricks and baking terms.)
  10. After the marble cake has finished baking, it is removed from the springform pan and cooled on a cooling rack.

The marble cake becomes a detective cake:

  1. For the three exclamation marks, the raw marzipan mixture is divided into six parts and colored with food coloring in the colors of the “Three Exclamation Marks” logo. We use the Goodbake drip system for this - the colors are great and you can get great color results with just a little product.
  2. Then use the knife and the round cookie cutter to cut out the exclamation marks from the colored, rolled out marzipan.
  3. Before we decorate the cake with it, the chocolate is melted in a water bath and the liquid chocolate is spread over the cake with a brush or palette.
  4. While the chocolate is still liquid, place the exclamation marks on the marble cake and decorate the edge of the detective cake with your favorite sugar sprinkles. And the birthday cake is ready!
