Baking accessories
Baking Equipment, Mixing bowl, Hand mixer with, dough hooks, Kitchen scale, Tea towel, Tablespoon, Rolling pin, Heart-shaped cookie cutter*Baking tray lined with baking paper (or a baking mat), Cooling rack Piping bag with a small filling nozzle* (or a disposable syringe for filling), Small bowl
Mini tip: For my first attempt, I simply bought a small disposable syringe from the nearest pharmacy.
Preparation
- Mix the dry yeast thoroughly with the flour, then add the sugar and salt.
- Add the lukewarm milk, butter, and egg to the dry ingredients and knead everything by hand (or with dough hooks) until you have a smooth dough.
- Cover the yeast dough with a kitchen towel and let it rest in a warm place for 30 minutes.
- Knead the dough briefly once more, then roll it out on a lightly floured surface to about 2 cm (¾ inch) thick.

- Cut out heart shapes and place them on a baking tray lined with baking paper.
- Put the heart-shaped Berliners into a cold oven and set the temperature to 180°C (355°F). Once the oven has reached temperature, bake them for about 25 minutes, making sure they don't become too dark.
- Allow the baked heart Berliners to cool completely on a cooling rack.

- Using a piping bag with a filling nozzle or a small syringe, fill each Berliner with your favorite jam. If you prefer, you can also use chocolate sauce, vanilla cream, or another filling of your choice.

- To make the icing, mix the powdered sugar with lemon juice and the pink food coloring. Dip the tops of the Berliners into the icing. Mini tip: Icing becomes runny very quickly, so add the lemon juice only a few drops at a time until it reaches a thick but pourable consistency.
- Now your Mini can decorate the oven Berliners with the pink chocolate hearts!

And just like that, your adorable Mother's Day heart Berliners are ready! A sweet little treat baked with lots of love for Mom—and for everyone else with a sweet tooth.
