  • Add the lukewarm milk, butter, and egg to the dry ingredients and knead everything by hand (or with dough hooks) until you have a smooth dough.
  • Cover the yeast dough with a kitchen towel and let it rest in a warm place for 30 minutes.
  • Knead the dough briefly once more, then roll it out on a lightly floured surface to about 2 cm (¾ inch) thick.

  • Cut out heart shapes and place them on a baking tray lined with baking paper.
  • Put the heart-shaped Berliners into a cold oven and set the temperature to 180°C (355°F). Once the oven has reached temperature, bake them for about 25 minutes, making sure they don't become too dark.
  • Allow the baked heart Berliners to cool completely on a cooling rack.

  • To make the icing, mix the powdered sugar with lemon juice and the pink food coloring. Dip the tops of the Berliners into the icing. Mini tip: Icing becomes runny very quickly, so add the lemon juice only a few drops at a time until it reaches a thick but pourable consistency.
  • Now your Mini can decorate the oven Berliners with the pink chocolate hearts!
